As an Author:

I mostly write short stories and blogs on my website, Jameson Publications. However, I am an avid reader of fanfiction, and eager to "dip my toe into the water", as it were. Also, given my passion for dialogue and flow, I am more than willing to offer my services as a beta reader/writer.

My Fanfiction:

I have some projects in the works, and I'll post them here as they are completed. I'm developing a few one-shots, and I've got some novel-length ideas making their way through the old grey matter.

[17 November 2017] Re: "Moonstruck": I wrote a chapter, and got stuck. I have this sprawling outline, and a bunch of ideas, but I've sort of overwhelmed myself. It'll pick back up as soon as I get my Occlumency sorted.

[29 November 2017] My first one-shot, "Reporter Extraordinaire!" has been posted. It's... weird.

Regarding My Preferences:

I like complex stories, well-developed romance, and irreverent, mind-bending comedy. For the most part, I read Harry Potter (favourite character: Luna Lovegood) and Naruto (favourite character, Mitarashi Anko) fanfiction, and interestingly orchestrated crossovers with those two and other universes. I like unusual pairings, and tend to be drawn to high action, adult-themed storytelling. I think "Dimension Hopping for Beginners" by Nonjon is probably the perfect fanfic story.

A Random Rant:

There is little I like less in a story than self-impressed A/N's regarding cliffhangers. My reaction runs thusly: (1) "Aw dang, the chapter's almost over and this is definitely not getting resolved." (2) "Wow, you've written a compelling ending to a chapter that makes me want to read more." (3) "An A/N?! What little nugget of infor- ... ... Oh, come on! Yes, yes, good for you. You can tell a story. Thank you ever so much for breaking up the flow and tone of your story to be smug." (4) "Ugh. If they're going to keep doing this, I'm going to hate this story. Maybe I should just stop reading."

And fully 2/3 of the time, I do, indeed, stop reading these stories. Why? Because in any dramatic tale, you want tension and suspense to compel you to keep reading. No chapter of a book is going to have, e.g., Stephen King going "ooooh, I'm so evil, what a nasty little cliffie." Even imagining it is laughable; so why would you do it in a story you're trying to get people to read?

It's horrible. Please stop it.

In Conclusion:

I write actively, but less-so here than elsewhere. Nevertheless, I am intrigued by the possibilities of fanfiction, and looking forward to trying my own hand at it. More than anything, though, I am a connoisseur of interesting stories (see my C2, The Dzarsos Collection), and happy to share ideas and story-telling duties with any who are interested.
