Profile page is STILL going under cleaning. Apologies if the layout or content is messy There are some who call me... Phil. I'm a guy and am over the legal drinking age in the US. I like anime and gaming. And to be frank, that's all you're going to get from me that could identify me in real life. So neener-neener-neener. My Personal Morals: Preferred story genres: Adventure, Romance, Comedy/Humor, drama, decent Crossovers, sci-fi. My Forums: Discussions and stuff XxXxX Ok, so some may ask (especially those who I both follow and favorite) why I don't favorite everything I'm reading. Well, it's partly because I'm one picky mofo, as well as other reasons. One of which is plot originality. The more original the plot is, the more likely I'm going to favorite it. The next thing on my list is believable characters. If I can empathize and relate to characters emotionally, well done and you'll most likely get a favorite out of me. Third is romantic pairings. I do favor one romantic pairing over others when dealing with different series and crossover scenarios, but that's personal preference. Now the reason I do this is because I'm giving you space at the bottom of my profile that says that I as a verified user endorse that I like "this" story. Now that's the reason my follow list is so much larger than my favorite list, I'm waiting to see where things are going. If I don't like where it is then I just unfollow, plain and simple. If I like where it's going then I'll add it to my favorites, again plain and simple. General Original Characters Bashing as defined by me Rating This is how the MPAA selects a rating appropriate for a film, and how I'll be setting the rating for any stories I write on this site that will reference this system: G - While this doesn't generally mean this is for children, contains no nudity, sex, language, violence, or themes that parents might find offensive for their children to be seeing. Nor is there any drug usage depicted directly. PG - Some material may be unsuitable for children under 10. There might be some profanity or brief nudity or violence but are not intense enough for parents to be more than cautioned. PG-13 - This goes beyond the PG rating in profanity, violence, nudity, and sensuality, and allows one F-bomb for the entire script. This, of course, is the border rating between PG and R. R - Expect hard language, rough violence, nudity within sensual scenes, and alcohol or drug based abuse. In other words, these are the fun movies. NC-17/X - Yeah this is usually reserved for gorefests and pr0n. You click on it and see that it is something that you would rather not see. Now later you browse again and see it again. Now if the powers that be can make us a personal archive of followed and favorited stories, why can't they do the same to stories that we DON'T want to see? You know like certain warnings like "slash," certain stories themselves, or pairings. Now we can already have an exclusion system of certain parings, but not trigger warnings. I know that it would be a HUGE undertaking, but if they can do exclusions of certain pairings then could this also be done? One thing that I'm tired of seeing is Twilight stories crossed over with any others as well as just the story series itself. This would a well-appreciated feature if added. Idea #2: Allowing JavaScript/jQuery Now I know that this is a bit of an undertaking since those super adept at this can make some insidious codings to totally mess with people. But those who just want to customize their profile a bit to make it a little more compact like using jQuery tabs would be wonderful. I mean I use anchor tags to link from the top of my profile to the two sections towards the bottom, so why not? Well, there's security issues, so there's that. Well, perhaps one day then. Idea #3: Keyword searching Now as we know we already have a pretty decent search system, however, there are people who create crossovers inside of the original source material. IE: someone I saw created a Halo crossover INSIDE of the base Naruto story. By all intents and purposes it should have been listed under the crossovers, but wasn't. Now if only we had a search function that would allow us to find these fics while under a story's main heading with a keyword. Just saying. Idea #4: Default settings Ok, so I like to search me up some stories. However when I do so I always get defaulted to no default language. Now I do wonder if there is a way inside of everyone's settings that they have their own language selected, that way that's one less step in the process to in fact get to whatever stories we want to read? I mean that would be pretty damn convenient if I do say so myself. Idea #5: Chapter check-off list This is a feature that I saw on another site and I love it. When you have an unread chapter it is unchecked but when you read the chapter (go to the chapter) it checks it off. People would love this feature if it were implemented on this site, especially if you dropped a story but picked it back up after a long time had passed. Idea #6: Tables HTML tables. That is all. XxXxX Story Ideas: I'll be honest, while I do like to dabble in the world of writing, I get so many ideas that I can't write them all since I do have a life outside the internet (said no one ever) and can't spend all my time writing reading material, though I'd really want to. So below are some ideas that I've spawned up that anyone can take as a challenge. The only thing that I require is that you PM me and say that you "accept the [insert story idea] idea" and I'll mark that you have taken it (and of course say that I challenged you in the initial chapter of the fic). So without further ado, I present my ideas to use. Also, if you saw a story idea here before but it's now gone, it's probably because the idea became an actual story on my profile. Title: [Up to the challenged author] Type: Standard fic Universe: Sword Art Online Genres: Slight AU, Adventure Sub-genres: [Up to the challenged author] Main characters: OC's [names are up to the challengee] Language: English Basic plot: The SAO release was much larger than expected, allowing many more gamers to get their hands on the game and have a much bigger world-wide release. Among these two are a husband (a cop) and wife in the US. The husband has to work the night the game was released, so he is not caught inside of it; his wife, on the other hand was not so lucky. Returning home to a comatose wife after his shift he calls for an ambulance, which comes with black SUV's in tow. Inside is a Federal agent assigned to a task force in charge of investigating these trapped gamers. After being questioned and learning that there are more like his wife out there, he asks to be a part of the task force to help take down the man responsible. Concept: The idea behind this is that we never see what goes on outside the game world, only the one news report saying that people are stuck inside the game and that those who are disconnected die immediately (that and the death toll reports). So the question remains, what is going on outside? What are the families of the trapped gamers doing to cope with the fact that their loved ones might never come out of this "Death Game?" What was the investigation to try and find this man who killed so many and yet got away with it? Or did he? Other than that the challenged author may go inside of the game world to give updates, but the primary focus is on the characters outside. Guest appearances by the cast of the Anime/Manga is allowed. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to the challenged author] Type: Crossover Universes: Naruto x Red vs. Blue Genre: Adventure, Friendship, Comedy, AU Sub-genres: [Up to the challenged author] Main characters: Naruto U. or Naruko U., Agent Carolina Language: English Rating: T-M (based on language and possible graphic material that could be written) Basic plot: After being thrown off the cliff by Maine (RvB Season 10) Carolina lands at the bottom of the cliff only to pass out. She wakes up later (suitless) to discover she is in a house, an old house made of materials that haven't been used in years. Still unable to move, she meets the master of the house, the same person that saved her days earlier. Not wanting to be in anyone's debt, she states she is a mercenary and will do a task for him in to wipe the debt she feels she owes him. After a completed job months later she wanders the continent looking for any way off the planet when she makes her way to Konoha as a traveler passing through. She then discovers five year old Naruto (or Naruko if the challenged author favors Fem!Naruto) bruised, beaten, and starving in a back alleyway. Moved by what she sees (whilist cursing female hormones) offers to take him/her out to eat, to which he/she suggests his/her favorite ramen bar. While dining Carolina asks why Naruto/Naruko was left for dead on the street (to which she notices that the bruises are pretty much gone) starving; to which he/she replies that the orphanage kicked him/her out after his/her birthday a few days prior because he/she was a "demon child." Enraged that people would be so heartless to do this to a child she leaves some money on the counter before marching off the the village leader's office, with Naruto/Naruko following her without her knowledge, (information she gathered through her travels through different countries) in a rage. Barging into the Sandime's office (setting off the ANBU inside, to which Hiruzen holds up a hand to tell them to "hold.") she accuses him of having some of the most heartless SOB villagers that have ever existed. After words are exchanged she leaves the office in a huff after Hiruzen promises that he'll get Naruto/Naruko an apartment on the village's dime. After seeing the raw strength (which was amplified by her armor) that Carolina possessed opening the Sandime's office he/she asks to be trained by Carolina; to which she originally declines but gives in after the infamous "puppy dog eyes jutsu." Concept: The idea behind this is that the planet (which is never named by the way) is in fact the one that the Project Freelancer ship Mother of Invention lands on in the season 10 finale, on which the continent that they land on is in the Land of Iron in the northern-most part of their territory. Then there's the fact that there are so many years between seasons 1 and 10 in terms of events that this could be totally plausible. The main premise is that Naruto or Fem!Naruto gets trained Project Freelancer style while also getting trained as a Shinobi or Kunoichi (gender specific obviously). Romance options are allowed, however Carolina is out since she will be seen as a teacher/sister rather than a romance option. Absolutes: The author that accepts this challenge MUST have a decent knowledge of both series or utilize each series' wiki pages. If you use the Japanese versions of the Jutsu you must either have the translated version in English in parenthesis after it or at the end of the chapter in an author's note. Pairings are up to the author, however they must be of the opposite sex. References to other series (other anime and otherwise) is allowed. Lemons and limes are allowed. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to the author] Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x Die Hard Genre: Adventure/Action Main characters: John McClane, Harry P. Language: English Plot: While on vacation in London John finds abused and neglected Harry left to die in the streets. Puts away aunt and uncle with help from Scotland Yard, adopts him into the McClane family, and then the author will take it from there. Concept: This needs to happen. I mean what's more badass than saying "Yippie-kai-yay Motherf*cker!"? Absolute: Good grammar and badassery, no slash. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to the author] Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x Constantine (TV series - 2014) Genre: Supernatural/Adventure/Horror Main characters: John Constantine, Chas Chandler, Harry P., (additional characters may be added as well) Language: English Plot: I'm pretty much leaving this to the challengee. Will be filled in with the plot from the story when created and posted. Concept: The Harry Potter universe is filled with supernatural beings and events like splitting your soul into a horcrux, why can't angels and demons fit into it as well? Absolutes: Good grammar, research/knowledge of both series, no slash. Must be at least the length of a full hour long episode minimum, interpret that however you will. Does not need to be Epic length. Challenge accepted by: Title: It's Always Sunny in Konoha Type: Crossover (technically) Universes: Naruto x It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Genre: Humor (possibly romance?) Main characters: Up to the author Language: English Rating: M Plot: After the Fourth Great Shinobi War life begins to go back to normal for all who were involved in it. For four of these shinobi they decided to start their own bar whether it be for money, booze, or women. Concept: I've been on an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia binge and thought that this would be pretty funny to see/read. Absolutes: Good grammar. A sense of humor. Picking characters that would mesh like the ones in It's Always Sunny. Romance and lemon/limes are allowed, preferably no yaoi/slash. Cannon characters and OC's are more than allowed, in fact they are encouraged. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to author] Type: Crossover Universes: Red vs. Blue and Infinite Stratos Genre: Action/Adventure Sub-genre: Romance (but as a subplot) Main characters: The Director, The Freelancers, IS academy students Language: English Rating: M Plot: Ever since the Covenant attacked Harvest a project was put on hold, now that the War is over it may begin again. Governments on UNSC held words are starting to use these new peacekeepers instead of soldiers. This has lead to the reemergence of PMC's which died off during the 21st century. One of these PMC's on loan to the UNSC is known only as "Project Freelancer." They're the best of the best and use any technology whether it be Covenant, Human (UNSC and IS based), or alien. The "IS Program" is another on loan, and their technology they've developed is just as good, if not better. However the IS program has been keeping secrets far too long. What happens when a crew of Freelancers perform a heist on a IS base? Concept: This would be an IS based fic inside of the Haloverse/RvB-verse (as those two share events). The IS academy is training the next generation of soldiers/peacekeepers after the Human-Covenant War. I've checked, this would be the ONLY RvB x IS crossover that would be on this site, so those that are interested should keep that in mind. The idea would be that these two PMC's are competing for dominance in the human colonies. Yeah not a great synopsis, but anyone willing to take the idea is welcome to change anything as they see fit (descriptions here will be changed if that happens). Absolutes: Good grammar, good knowledge or use of the IS wiki page and the RvB wiki page (also Halo for technology as Halo and RvB share the same universe). No yaoi. Fem!slash is ok. No gender swapping established characters. Lemons/limes are allowed as is fanservice, but don't go overkill on it (ie: one per chapter). OC's are allowed as long as their existence and role in the story is explained. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Author's choice] Type: Crossover Universes: Red vs. Blue and Naruto Genre: Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi Main characters: Naruto U., Naruko U., Minato N., Alpha Sub-genre: Romance sub-plot Language: English Rating: T or M depending on how graphic it is written. Plot: Naruto was ten when the Kyuubi attacked the Leaf and his sister had the demon sealed inside her. For whatever reason Kami's grace allowed both Minato and Kushina to live on with their lives. Ever since then Naruto was cast aside for his younger "hero" sister. His parents don't even care if he becomes a ninja or becomes a civilian. He vowed that day that he would create something. Something that would be forever known, as Project Freelancer after finding an entity known as The Alpha. With new friends and allies how will Konoha and her enemies and allies fare? Concept: I've been reading quite a few abandonment fics involving Naruto being cast aside for a sibling who has either the chakra while he holds the consciousness, or the sibling has it sealed in its entirety. This is my little twist where Naruto becomes The Director after finding the Alpha AI fragment, forming his own mercenary unit called the Freelancers. I've seen so few Naruto x RvB so I thought I would throw this out there and see if anyone would take it. Otherwise I just might. Absolutes: Good grammar and spelling. Liberal use of the RvB wiki and Naruto wiki pages. Romance options are to be kept in Naruto's age group. So he would be approximately 20-21 at the beginning of the canonical story. So no creepy pairings. No yaoi. Lemons and limes may be used as "treats" for the audience, not as a plot seller (if used bump rating up to M). Challenge accepted by: (Me, if no one takes it. I think it would be interesting.) Title: The Twins Type: Crossover Universes: Red vs. Blue and Naruto Genre: Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi Main characters: Naruto U., Naruko U., The Freelancers, The Director (Dr. Leonard Church) Sub-genre: Romance sub-plot Language: English Rating: T or M depending on how graphic it is written. Plot: The Uzumaki twins lost both of their parents the same day that the Kyuubi was killed. All of the villagers and a minority of the shinobi forces see the two as demonspawn the need to be culled. After escaping a particularly nasty birthday "surprise" by the drunk and disorderly villagers and still mourning shinobi, they find themselves on the outskirts of the village. A man who was watching it all from afar approaches the two with a proposition after introducing himself as Dr. Church. They accept, and are given the misnomer "The Twins," or more commonly known as North and South Dakota. Concept: I thought it would be nice to have a little fun with North and South's backstory, as there isn't much as they're there in RvB Season 9 as well as North and South in the Recovery One mini-series where North dies, as does South later. The idea is for them to eventually go back to the Elemental Nations on whatever rock they're on in the 'verse and kick ass PFL style. Absolutes: As always I'm a hardass on grammar and spelling as well as knowing the lore that's in both series, so read up y'all. No twincest (even though some think that it is "wincest"). The only confirmed pairing right out of the gate is Agents York and Carolina as they broke up during season 10. No spontaneous parings "just because." There's a reason there's a romance sub-plot rather than in your face about it. Lemons and limes may be used if done so sparingly to support the story rather than just to use it as a selling point. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Author's call] Type: Standard fic Universe: Naruto Genre: Action, Drama Main characters: Naruto U., OC, Team 7 Sub-genre: Romance subplot Language: English Rating: T or M depending on graphic descriptions Plot: After returning Sasuke to the Leaf, Naruto was banished for harming the Council's precious Uchiha when capturing him. Naruto packs up whatever belongings he has left, says "goodbye" to those who were actually friends with him, and leaves the village for good. Fifteen years pass and Naruto has built himself a new life in New York City as a member of the NYPD's SWAT team. He has a steady job, a beautiful long-term girlfriend living with him in his apartment, and life couldn't be better. Meanwhile back in the Elemental Nations a total recall of all hosts to tailed beasts. When Naruto failed to appear anywhere a search party was sent out. The only clue they got from Inari was that Naruto was headed to the Outer Nations. However the Leaf aren't the only ones looking for him. Concept: Now the reason I thought this concept up is I've read a lot of banishment fics and have yet to see one where the Elemental Nations reside in a pocket dimension inside of the Dragon's Triangle. That would explain why Japanese would be the dominant language as well as customs other than just Kishi's preference for them rather than another language or custom. Why New York City? Well it's hard to find someone who doesn't want to be found in a city of millions. Absolutes: Good grammar and spelling. Realistic situations and reasonable reactions from the public and government when Akatsuki starts showing up. Lemons or limes may be used, but make it so that they can be skipped and no plot is missed. A reasonable and believable romance between Naruto and the OC girlfriend. A decent understanding of Naruto lore. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Author's choice] Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x NCIS Genre: Action, Drama, Crime Main characters: Harry P., Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Abby S., Albus "Many names" D., Fleur D. Sub-genre: Romance Language: English Rating: T Plot: The year is 2000. One week before Voldemort's assault on Potter Manor a contingency was put into motion by Lilly as a last resort should they die at Voldemort's hand. This plan was not told to James, Sirius, Remus, or Dumbledore as it involved the fusion mundane quantum mechanics and magic itself. The week passed in peace until Voldemort and his followers attacked, killing James who was giving Lilly the time she needed. As she lay dying, she initiated her plan. A rift opened, taking little Harry away to parts unknown, warping the Killing Curse, bending it to strike Voldemort himself. Meanwhile in a small town in Virginia a couple walked through a park, depressed at the news that they were incapable of having children. When suddenly a child literally drops into the woman's lap. Twenty-five years pass and James "Jimmy" Anderson is in the middle of a NCIS investigation to apprehend a murderer. As soon as he kicks in a door he appears inside a medieval styled castle hall with a sub-machine gun raised, with a very confused expression on his face. Mere minutes earlier in Hogwarts the Goblet of Fire spits out the name "Harry Potter" and it is near whispered by Albus, only for a man decked out in a kevlar vest with "NCIS" emblazoned on the back holding a muggle firearm appeared. Now the question on Albus's mind is "what happened to 'young' Harry years prior, and why does he look MUCH older than a fourteen year old?" Concept: Now I've read quite a few NCIS crossover fics, but I have yet to see one where Harry is sent into the past into another family wishing for a child, only for it to come true. Why the past? Well I've seen so many (and well done) fics done where Gibbs adopts Harry or where the service does an investigation on why he was treated so poorly at the Dursley's residence, but never one like this. Plus we can't have a fourteen year old being in a federal law enforcement agency, magical or not. Making this an interesting title in concept. The reason for the year 2000 instead of 1981 is because the first season of NCIS started in 2003, meaning this would take place during season 2 at least in terms of events. However he will be sent back to 1975 thanks to the hybridic ritual that Lilly performs on the night of her death. From what I have gathered there is no actual time-travel fic that involves NCIS like this of this nature. So again, one more original title. As for who Harry/Jimmy will be paired up with as there is a sub-genre of "romance" is up in the air as this isn't necessarily an immediate concern and can emerge in later chapters. Probable pairings are Harry and Abby or Harry and Fleur. It all depends on how the story is written. Absolutes: Good grammar and spelling. Knowledge of both NCIS and Harry Potter, make use of their respective wikis. A believable romance as well as situations written. No lemons or limes, however insinuations are allowed (ie: hard cut-aways). If Harry is paired up with Fleur, make sure there's a believable reason to why as in the eyes of mundane society she is still a minor, though the age of consent is under 18 in both France and the UK. As for Abby, well she's always been one of my more favorite characters in the NCIS-verse. No slash. No harems as it wouldn't work in this situation. Proofread or get a grammar/spelling based beta. Challenge accepted by: Title: The Saintly Wizard (title subject to change) Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x Saints Row Genre: Comedy, Adventure, Crime Main characters: Harry P., The Boss, Johnny Gat, Shaundi Language: English Rating: M, it's Saints Row guys what other rating would it be? Plot: In 1984 the Dursleys made a trip to Stillwater for Vernon's work. Due to Mrs. Figg being sick that entire month, they were forced to take the "Freak" with them. They made their way into one of the more seedier parts of town just to ditch Harry in a dark alleyway. Days pass for the child. He is forced to live off the scraps of others by digging through the garbage. He is later found by the Boss of the Third Street Saints and taken in as on of their own, a brother in all but blood. Years pass and the events of the first and second games end. Harry is now thirteen. One day a bird with a letter arrives for him for "magic school." He begrudgingly accepts. How will Hogwarts cope with a Saint as a student? Concept: No real concept. Just something that just came to mind. However a Harry raised by the Saints as a brother in their social club would certainly be interesting considering how destructive and chaotic just Johnny Gat and the Boss are. Absolutes: Good grammar and spelling, the whole nine yards here. Knowledge of both series. For the sake of the story, the fourth Saints Row game does not happen at all, completely disregard it. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to Author] Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x Battlefield Hardline Genre: Action, Adventure Main characters: Harry P. Rating: T-M Language: English Plot: Harry is a detective in the Miami-Dade police department. He's seen many things that he'd like to unsee, but can't. One case has him rattled, memories stir that have been locked away for decades. It all starts with, "You're a wizard, Harry." Concept: Just a fun idea that popped into my head. I liked playing Hardline and thought that story in the Battlefield-verse was quite interesting. The one that accepts this can work with this as much as they want. Absolutes: Good spelling and grammar. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to author] Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x The Fast and the Furious Genre: Action, Adventure Main characters: Harry P., Dom, others Rating: T or M Language: English Plot: After finding out that Harry is NOT the Chosen O Upne (but is still the Boy-Who-Lived) by Dumbledore and Fudge has Harry's magic and memories of magic sealed. They dump him in the middle of LA just to see him suffer for being a "fraud." However Harry doesn't die, he finds a purpose by boosting cars. His skill is noticed by Dom and Letty. Concept: One of my favorite "stupid fun" series is, of course, the Fast and the Furious series, it's just loads of fun to watch regardless how illogical it can get at times. Absolutes: Good grammar and spelling. NO SLASH! I'm dead serious. Challenge accepted by: Title: [Up to author] Type: Crossover Universes: Harry Potter x Rick and Morty Genre: Humor, Sci-Fi Main characters: OC sister ,Harry, and Dumbledore Rating: T to M Language: English Concept: Harry is the "Morty" character and Dumbledore is the "Rick" character. They go on crazy adventures that sometimes have pop culture references or are just insane. Absolutes: Grammar and spelling. Dark humor. Challenge accepted by: XxXxX Challenges Ok, so these are legit challenges. 'Nuff said. See below for deets. Yeah, this is currently empty as I have yet to challenge anyone. Accepted Challenges Also currently empty for the time being. XxXxX Thinking of writing for the site? Well, I have a few tips for you! 1) Use the spellcheck in Google Chrome and Firefox. 1a) If using Chrome turn on "Search Google Suggestions" for names or terms native to worlds that are correct but aren't usually found in the dictionary. 2) Use OpenOffice or Microsoft Word as a word processor. 3) Use Grammarly, a free extension, to correct bad grammar. | |||||||
