A lot has happened this year. Moved the family to Idaho, fell in love with the place and had great plans for the future. Started a Youtube channel talking about my favorite game, Magic: The Gathering. Had plans to start my own gaming shop. Finally settling in when the family got completely torn apart. Now I'm fighting just to get my daughter back, struggling to survive without the rest of my family. Still, after more than two months of crippling depression, I'm finally starting to mend. I've been doing a lot of reading, and it's kicked my ass into writing again. Started a new story (Yes, I know I have a ton that could really use updating first but this is what inspired me to write again). I'm going to take the time to reread all of my stories and start working on them again, starting with one of my first, Chaos Soldier Ranma. Hopefully you will see longer chapters and more of them. Maybe this time I can be a bit more consistent.

Took the kids to see the movie, Sing, yesterday. It was a great movie. We all greatly enjoyed it.

At one point in the movie I had to run out, tears pouring down my face as I started to hyperventilate. I had been overwhelmed by the message in the movie, something that forced me to look at myself and reevaluate what I've been letting happen to me.

For the past couple of years I've been fighting depression and anxiety. A lot of it was tied into the custody battle and the stress of dealing with that, as well as dealing with the feelings of inadequacy and lack of confidence and self-esteem stemming from my previous marriage. On top of that, dealing with whatever is going on with my hands that is making it extremely painful to write or type. These last six month especially have been hard for me and I've stopped writing completely.

The moment in Sing when the main character was trying to encourage one of the singers, and telling her “Don’t let fear stop you from doing the things you love.” He encouraged her to get out there and just start doing what you love and once you start, you'll keep doing it.

I had to leave the theater, overwhelmed. A cartoon was giving me the kick in the pants that I needed to overcome my depression. Overcome my anxiety. Overcome my fears and self-doubts.

I returned to the theater with the sniffles, my loving wife looking at me in concern as tears continued to stream down my face. I told her I'd explain it to her later and settled in to enjoy the rest of the movie, occasionally clearing the tears from my eyes so I could continue watching.

It's a new year. A new beginning. Time to put those fears behind me and not let them stop me from doing what I love.

The past couple of weeks have been crazy busy with getting the kids back into school. My youngest is still home and demanding more attention then normal. This has cut my writing time almost completely and means my writing will be sporadic until the end of the month. Once she starts preschool though I should be back to my regular, weekly update schedule. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this short break.

For the past month and a half I've managed a new chapter/story upload every week! Looks like I just might be back into the swing of things with regards to writing! Exciting!

It's been awhile since I've worked on any fan fiction, but I'm hoping to get back into writing again. I'm home bound due to medical complications. While this gives me more time to write, it means I'm having to find alternate methods of helping support my family.
