Author has written 7 stories for xxxHOLiC, One Piece, Fate/stay night, Naruto, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica/魔法少女まどか★マギカ. Nothing true can be said - only alluded to. The kind of person whose motto is "Calmly consider the unconsiderable." Hello, everyone, I'm Endfall. I'm a human by circumstance, a writer by trade, and a student of the world by design. My life goals are to become proficient at everything, do as much good as I possibly can, and make an end-run at immortality. While I wish the story of my life were an interesting thing, and that I could regale you with grand tales of adventure, in truth, it really... isn't. My primary value, for the moment, is held in a single, simple, solitary fact. I know how my stories end. You don't. Don't worry though! I'm on your side: Any story I begin writing, if it is of the sort that requires an end, shall have one - and not just a shitty little "I got tired of writing, so here's a summary." - no, a real, proper ending, complete story between it and the beginning and all. There's one exception case, unfortunately: My death. In this case, mea culpa, but a trusted individual has been given summaries to post. I think that's the best anyone can do. I do not guarantee regular posting. I guarantee that I'll work at a pace that feels sustainable, so we can reach those endings. Descriptions of my works follow. Published Works The Game of Kings: A series of light novels that are, in brief, an imaginary "fourth route" to Fate/Stay Night - and a sequel, of sorts, to the first three. Archer and Shirou are the focus characters of this route. It's an AU, since I began the story back in 2011 when Mahou Tsukai no Yoru and Fate/Apocrypha were respectively unpublished and the latter only existed as a cancelled videogame. Also because I filled a few plotholes in canon in ways different from what most fans have decided. Staff Episodes One - Spiral of Awakening General Info: This episode will feature The Director of the Mage's Association, Waver Velvet, a dead civilization and an unlikely team exploring it's ruins. And dead apostles. Can't forget dead apostles. All over the place. Like a swarm of baby spiders eating a bird. A rotting bird. Made of spiders. Length - 47,000 Words of est. 350,000 Two - The Paradigm March Progress - Part A, at ~8k words, split off to prepare for publication. General Info: This Episode will feature servant summoning, the Fae, Kotomine Kirei, damaged childhoods, Kiritsugu's first scene, the opening skirmishes of Heaven's Feel 5, innocence, and a tragedy. The first of many. I am, after all, a disciple of the Urobutcher. Relevant URLs Links to side materials and so forth used to be here, but for some reason, FFNET is eating my links. Lovely. Instead of giving you something to click, now I have to give you adresses to enter into the bar of your browser instead. Just delete the spaces, and they should work. goo . gl / V676Su - Offsite Copy of the Story - This is in case anything ever happens to lock me out of my account here in a way that prevents me from regaining access. Click the link if I haven't updated in years: I'm either dead, or unable to gain access to this account, in which case there might just be much more story on the other side. goo . gl / qBLPw - Bonus Content - About 20k words of stuff like servant stats, glossaries of terms that might be unknown to you if you're not a reader of non fate works and other assorted miscellany. Sha Nagba Imuru: "Weep not for heroes. Curse them." My SI fic. Set everywhere and everywhen simultaneously, and all at once. Initially a product of feeling that the future was as dead of potential as the past, now it's an attempt to teach myself how to write original fiction, piece by piece. Starts in Naruto. Ends in oblivion. Tales of an omniverse wanderer. This story is being beta read by the talented Enbi. If you enjoy Naruto fics, self inserts, or just really well-written stories, I recommend False Spring by the same. Overarcs Planned: Four plus one. Samsara Breaker, Form Eater, Void Architect, Eternity Recorder, and the Final Overarc (its name is a spoiler). Arcs Planned: Noragami, Naruto, One Piece, Chrono Trigger, His Dark Materials, Dresden Files, Hyperion Cantos, Mistborn, Shin Megami Tensei, Transistor, Worm, Undertale, The Wanderer's Mythos. These are deliberately out of order, and are not in any way the complete set. Relevant URLs goo . gl / WVl0Ep - Offsite Copy - Special features of this version include some invisible text that adds dimension to the story, and an encrypted summary that's about 3k words long. If I die, the decryption key to the summary gets posted. Even death won't stop you from getting some sort of conclusion. Hiatus La Tour et Mort: A crossover of Melty Blood, Tsubasa RC, and Madoka Magica. Based on a dream, and written as an epilogue to xxxHolic. A healing story in the truest, urobutcherest sense of that term. Current Status: Pending rewrite because the unpublished bits are about as coherent as a fever dream in their current form. This is a project of marginal priority - few people are interested in it, my own interest is minimal because I know exactly what I'd be writing down to the last and smallest details. Update 23/12/15: Investigating streamlining it into a novella. Sagacity Unbroken (Both Versions): My spin on a Bloodline Naruto story. It's a heavy-duty AU; mainly because I've lost all respect for most post-timeskip canon. Features more powerful clans, a third child of the sage, and her bloodline, which is discord. Bijuu are hostile genius locii, forms of shapeless silence that violate the precepts of reality with their own implacable logic. Jinchuuriki, in turn, do not contain demons. They are boundaries, and they exist to keep the power of the Nine and the None from touching our world. In history, there is no such thing as the Jyuubi. But in the future, there might be. In the aftermath of the invasion, Naruto wakes up in a hospital, bandages over his eyes. This is the beginning. In the desolate ruins of Amegakure-That-Was, something old and weary sleeps. In the shining spires of Soragakure, a nameless shadow swims free throughout the sky, and teaches the world to paint in the all the colours of despair. In a desolate country without a name, two Shinobi sit down to discuss an old entry in a journal over drinks. Here is the middle. In the Village Hidden in Leaves, all is silent and nothing moves. The land is dead. The trees are withered. The people are gone. In the Hidden Silence, a plan is born - one that will either reshape the world forever, or drown it in an ocean of flame. In the shattered space-between-spaces, the ninth turns and turns and turns. It was born to live. We were born to die. And somewhere nameless, a forgotten king sits on a derelict throne, wrought of steel and glass. Head cocked, eyes mad, he opens his ancient mouth and in a voice unheard for ages asks, "Where? Where is the end?" Current Status: Both versions suffer systemic problems. Final rewrite will be launched in due course. Works without a concept of "End" Devil Fruits - A Report: A slight crossover between the concepts of the SCP Foundation-verse and One Piece, writing by the thus-named Dr. Vegapunk. Abandon all real science, ye who enter here. Current Status: This project is always active, but only updates as I have fun or terrifying brainwaves as to how certain fruits work. At the moment, I'm not reading one piece (not from dislike, but because I fell out of the habit a few years back and don't have the time, right now, to reread the series from Eines Lobby, which is where my memory becomes less-than-perfect). So that's rare. Eventually I'll get back into the swing of things. Upcoming Shinobi: Once, long ago, in Zipangu no Kuni, in a test tube, as a scientist probed the deepest nature of creation, he discovered something that he shouldn't have, and from that terrible mistake a wisteria lotus bloomed. It grew, and blossomed, and under its mercy, everything was erased, forgotten, and returned to zero. But before the truth unleashed by man escaped its chains, there was a time when those who came before tore the world asunder, not for war, as is done today, but because the form of the world was considered inconvenient. In a world set free from the chains of power, and which had chained fury in turn, there was an age when half the stars in the sky burned in the colour of their transcendence. And then, one day, everything was gone. The slate was wiped clean. And under the mercy of the lotus, all was forgotten. But nothing was lost. Harry Potter/Negima Crossover: That's the title of the story. The summary will be an elipsis. Written under the thesis that if I make the interior fantastic, a completely boring exterior won't hurt it too much. That thesis unfortunately precludes me from saying much on it here. Likely the project I will throw myself into after completing The Game of Kings. May end up ignoring UQ Holder if the world mechanics introduced are incompatible, but I seriously doubt it will be a problem. Species of Silence: Mushishi oneshot involving Ginko, a village and the titular Mushi. Gilderoy Lockheart and the Oblivion War: Simple premise. Gilderoy Lockheart is actually scarily competent and involved in a conflict that spans the breadth of human history with the highest of stakes. Harry, naturally, ends up involved - but the thing about the oblivion war is that involvement is permanent and irrevocable. Very undeveloped. Probably the last fanfic I'll be writing, ever. Somewhat inspired by the Dresden Files Oblivion War; but not featuring any supernatural entities beyond those present in HP. Section 2 - General Information How to find Great Stories with Great Ease This is a simple method to find the best of the best on this site. This isn't "my" best of the best! Because of how the method works, it will always be your own best of the best - so if you don't like my taste? Not even a problem.
This works because authors you like usually write the kind of stories they want to read, and therefore read the sort of stories that you'll like; so if you're an author, please consider faving the stories you like most. If you like this method, please copy it to your own profile so it spreads all over the place! Let's help people find great stories! Off-Site Favourites the Shocker: Legit - Marvel - Max Landis. ...much more. Basically, I have something like one hundred bookmarks as of becoming a regular reader over at Sufficient Velocity. You want a bunch of high quality fics that don't get published here? Go there. I'm not making a list, but I can send the bookmarks to anyone on request. Its mostly stuff from Worm. Landis' fic is linked because that's an archive page. The original was deleted from the web after he became people, so its hard to find. Recommended Original Works Blindsight - Peter Watts Set in one of the worst possible outcomes for the future, and therefore almost certainly true in terms of the general direction it paints. Blindsight is a hard Sci-Fi novel that is set in a world where common humanity is an obsolete paradigm destined to fail. Interesting if you can accept uncomfortable ideas, else avoid. Ring - Stephen Baxter The culmination of Baxter's Xeelee Sequence, which is where I lost my ability to even concieve of writing stories where worlds don't somewhere end. Also notable in Xeelee: Exultant & Vacuum Diagrams. Anathem - Neal Stephenson Worldspanning journey set in an alternate universe with ever-so-slightly different laws of physics. Sci-fi/Alternate History. Difficult to explain without spoiling. It's one of those books that has no one feature that is the gimmick, but is just wholly excellent. One of Stephenson's works that actually has an ending instead of a "And then Neal got bored and walked away from the typewriter, never to return." |
